We're hiring a communications assistant!
We're looking for a full-time Communications Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a soon-to-be college grad, or someone with 1-2 years of work experience under their belt.
Strong proofreading and project management skills are required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus!

Assistant's primary responsibilities include:
Provide editing and proofreading of staff work, including news releases, articles, strategic plans and other materials.
Research, draft and verify media lists; manage editorial calendars for clients.
Monitor and maintain news sites, blogs and social media for clients.
Keep track of project timelines, deadlines, etc.
Provide support for LifeStories book projects as needed, including gathering, organizing and scanning source materials; corresponding with printers and book distributors; managing author website updates; and providing marketing/media support.
Assist with Lilja strategic website development, social media, newsletter, new business/RFP opportunities, pro bono work, etc.
Assist with day-to-day client needs, scheduling and client outreach.
Assist team with administrative tasks, including research assistance, office organization and managing accounts.
Requirements for the job:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.
1-2 years of experience working or interning in communications, public relations or related field.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, able to proofread for AP style; Chicago Manual of Style experience is a plus.
Attention to detail; strong project management skills.
Proficient in use of all Microsoft office products.
Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite are a plus.
Familiar with interactive and social media.
Basic HTML skills are a plus.
Ability to prioritize work.
Works well on a team.
Ability to multitask and be flexible.
Compensation: $38,000–42,000 a year, plus annual bonus
